Now Foods Summer Skincare review by My beauty Bunny

Press-SampleKeeping Hair and Skin Healthy With Now Foods

With summer in full swing, that means more fun in the sun and taking a bit more time to soothe parched skin and hair. I was lucky enough to have NOW FOODS send me a large assortment of goodies to keep me looking and feeling great. If you haven’t heard of NOW FOODS, they specialize in all sorts of products but stick to natural and organic ingredients that enhance the vitality of our hair and skin.  They also have dietary supplements, and line of healthy foods to choose from as well. Today will be an overview of several personal care products that I have used over the past month and a half.

Face Scrubs.  I tried two different ones, the first being Nature’s Microdermabrasion and the second being the Vitamin C & Orzo Sativa Gentle Scrub. Nature’s Microdermabrasion is for scrubbers that like some TRUE grit.  This scrub uses volcanic sand that is more on the coarse side and speeds up cell turnover and reduces the appearance of discolorations and other imperfections. Squalane, EVOO and Avocado Oil help in cell renewal after the volcanic sand does it jow removing all that dead skin!  It’s not drying at all, but only for those who truly love a scrubby scrub!  For those who want gentler action, go with the second option. Gentle enough to use two or more times a week, this citrusy scented scrub still has exfoliation power behind it, but does not have as much coarseness to it.  Vitamin C, Niacin and Aloe Vera sink into the skin to help unplug pores without causing irritation.

Now Foods face Scrub and Body Lotion review by My beauty Bunny

Body Lotions. Out of the two sent to me, hands down the Vitamin C & Sea Buckthorn lotion was my favorite. This lotion smells SO GOOD. Like juicy oranges. And I love that Vitamin C promotes healthy collagen production while sea buckthorn addresses damage.  I use this everywhere from the neck down and my husband love the scent and feel of it.  The Vitamin E cream is better suited for those dry spots we have on the body, like elbows and feet.  It pours out of tube rather quickly, but takes a bit to rub in.  This lotion has one of the highest concentrations of vitamin E that works as a power antioxidant. it has more of a nutty scent to me although there are no nut oils in the formulation. I found this to be a heavier cream that is suitable for drier skin while the Vitamin C & Sea Buckthorn works great as a daily moisturizer.

Now Foods Body Oils review by My beauty BunnyHair and Body Oils.  I was able to choose which oils were sent to me so I decided on a few old time favorites and one new one. Organic Argan oil is a great multi-functional oil that I’ve used on my hair for years after the shower, but I also found it worked great on my husband’s super dry, cracked feet. It easily absorbs without leaving greasy footprints around the house or weighing my hair down.  Sweet Almond oil works as a great carrier oil to add fragrances or essential oils to for a great natural based perfume.  It also works great as an all over body and face moisturizer in small amounts.  Just a few drops here and there are all you need for truly healthy looking skin. next up was the sensuously scented, Tranquil Rose Massage Oil. I love the smell of roses and love using this after the shower. I love freshly shaved legs with just a bit of moisturizing sheen and this works well at doing that.  The base is sweet almond oil blended with apricot oil, grape seed oil, and rose extract.  Lastly, Coconut Oil is something I use more in food than I do on the body.  It’s another great multi-purpose product but I generally use it as a lip treatment, or mix it with food while cooking.  It’s a bit too heavy to use on my fine hair, but works great as a full body moisturizer that melts on contact with the skin (it’s a solid at cool temperatures and liquid at warmer temperatures)

now foods completely kissable vanilla lip balm review by my beauty bunny
Lips
.  I’m a bit of a lip balm addict so there is no doubt that I will always need another lip balm in my life.  With three different flavors to choose from (peppermint, pomegranate and vanilla) it was a hard choice, but vanilla is always true and blue for me. The lip balm literally glides on and leaves my lips feeling smooth and comfortable. I have been able to keep dry, peeling lips at bay with Now Foods Completely Kissable Vanilla lip balm and will be keeping it in my purse since I reach for it often.

Now Foods Citrus Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner Review by My Beauty Bunny

Haircare. I’ve been on a bit of a citrus kick this summer, and have been loving the Citrus Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner with its juicy scent that fills my shower.  I have long, fine hair that doesn’t hold a curl well so when a shampoo says it’s for limp hair–I’m all over it! My hair feels clean, shiny, and smells great.  I love that it’s SLS free so it won’t dry out my color treated hair. Vitamins B, C, E and Green tea extract work to gently remove build up while providing antioxidant action for healthy looking hair.

The last two products I was sent is the Vegetable Glycerine and Rosewater Concentrate…but I’m saving that for a separate post to show you how to make your very own moisturizing and toner spray! So stay tuned for that in the next week!

NOW FOODS are a great brand! Their products are awesome. Not only do they use high quality ingredients in the right proportions in their products, but they also price their products reasonably at an affordable price. I’ve recommended supplements NOW FOODS in my hair care guide as well. Nice post overall, thank you!
