Where to Find Cruelty Free Hair Color in Los Angeles

Is it just me? I feel like my hair goes from fabulous to sad and damaged really fast! If I think about how often I get my hair done, it’s about every six weeks, which I guess is actually quite normal. Thank the heavens for Patricia Lynn Laas, my hair guru.

I have been going to Patricia for three or four years, and at this point, she knows my hair better than I do. Plus, she is the only person who knows how to style it the way I like! She actually listens when I tell her I prefer a little scrunching and diffusing instead of a straight blow dry. And she listens when I say anything larger than a 1″ curling iron is not going to hold, and will not give me the look that I want. I have been to so many other stylists who seem to think they know better than their clients, and just refuse to make these little tweaks that make ALL the difference. She also knows how fragile my hair is, so she mixes a blend of color that doesn’t damage it.

Plus, she knows I love my hair long, so she makes sure to only cut the bits on the ends that are getting a little sad and crunchy. When my hair goes too long between cuts, the ends stop curling up, and overall my hair looks like it can’t decide between straight or curly (in-between never looks cute)! Because my hair is wavy, so when it’s wet, it looks a lot longer than it actually is. After she cuts my hair, I don’t feel that it’s too short – just that it’s refreshed and ready to curl up again.

Hair cut and color by Patricia Lynn Laas in Los Angeles

I’m over here trying not to squint in the sun, but wow the hair color pops!

Patricia also understands that I won’t use anything that is not cruelty free. She goes to great lengths to make sure she only uses cruelty free hair products on me. Because salon products are a lot less open about these things than consumer products, she usually gives me direct contacts from the brands she works with so I can contact them directly. Lately she has been using It&Ly cruelty free hair color, and a mixture of cruelty free styling products.

Today I was happy to have her come to my house to do my hair. (Yay for staying in yoga pants all day!) She’s currently in Salon Republic in Beverly Hills, but ask her about house visits. She blended deep reds and browns, to give me this gorgeous red hair color. The shades look different depending on the light, but always super vibrant and healthy! I got my hair mojo back. Thank you Patricia!
